Jan Prislin-Planinc is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. She has worked in various mediums including oil and acrylic painting as well as printmaking and assemblage, and has had four solo exhibitions so far.
A lot of Jan’s work has been an exploration of the emotional and intellectual reality that is constructed in the process of painting, that in-between space where physical objects become ‘transcendental entities’. Jan’s most recent work focuses on charcoal drawing and oil and acrylic painting, creating intimately observed images of the everyday that endeavour to take the viewer beyond the purely visual into poetic spaces for contemplation.
